Scene 312: Red Bandits

And still the monologue continues
the stream of words
flooding the ears
and pounding at the orifices
of all that breathed.

So harshly
those dissonant consonants yelled
breaking through the glass,
ripping apart the flesh
that gently folded over the chest.

The lock broke open
and paint splattered everywhere,
marking the culprits who dared
challenge
and steal the treasure

6.29.2010

Scene 311: Summer Hailing

A fountain dropped from the sky.
For those who have always lived in a mansion,
the fragments seemed like hail.

The umbrella bent, ninety degrees
and pointed straight through the rain at the statue's chest
where it breathed heavily.

The puddle at the foot of the garden
ran cold with the pulse of the clouds
and soon, the hail began again.

6.28.2010

Scene 310: Love Under the Mantle

Passion
fluttered about
across the night canvas
with little
footprints

6.27.2010

Scene 309: Dream Rain

Fresh off the sky
the dancer glided down
on the icy rink
trailing towards the floor
she slips
and crashes
joining the puddle of blood

Scene 308: Behind the Smiling Moon

Behind the emblazened starscape
so engulfed in passion
lies the black and shade
that make it possible.

They flicker, supporting the stars
holding them up
making them bright
while they cry

6.25.2010

Sceme 307: The Space Between

Sound in the dark
so white,
and quiet.

A pause,
then a tumult
of pouring pebbles

Naked,
nothing between the space
and the soul

The blue
and the red
will form purple

The canvas is filled
the sounds quelled,
light

6.24.2010

Scene 306: Under the Rain

Sitting on top of an arch,
a single act of passion,
and a tumult,
crashing,
sliding,
to the bottom of the arc,
landing in an empty pot
at the end of the frown

6.23.2010

Scene 305: Greener Grass

A line in the grass
calls for attention,
oh, how needy.

And a splash of the sky
douses the fur
dewy and dirty.

Terrible,
a black beetle
crawls upon the blade

The greens bend
under all the weight of the sky
and the darkness

And again
the line calls out.
How needy

6.22.2010

Scene 304: A Flame of Papers

The laughter drowned in the sand
the grains filled the crevices between the teeth
and dried up the tongue
and cracked the lips into pieces.

The sound was raspy
like static in a hallway.
The beat of throbbing eyes
so piercing, from the sand

Stifled, breathing gets heavier
and the conscience breaks
into dust,
buried alive in the beach

6.21.2010

Scene 303: Pitchforks

We sing
in the streets
under the torches,
yes, we sing.

The words are new
but the feelings are old
what an anthem
of simple anger

6.20.2010

Scene 302: For the Tooth Fairy

That you may come into my room at night
and leave a treasure
so silver,
so sweet
that you make my teeth fall out

That, my dear, is the truth
that wish,
from juvenilia that bloomed
through the future

Scene 301:At the End of the Stick

Cherry eyes in the night
so daunting
that their weight
crushes you, like fire trucks

You call for help,
but the tone deafens you
your fingers ache,
and the line shocks you

Such sweetness in those eyes
that you trip over your own feet
look again
and call once more

6.18.2010

Scene 300: Upon A New Frontier

Did you see that?
Hark, the bird is falling.

That lark took a bite
of the cheese in the sky,
how awful.

The man couldn't sit
idly.
He took his flag
and speared that bird

6.17.2010

Scene 299: That Grass

A sprig of the rain
on a drop of leaves
what a sight,
that they sang out loud.
For one moment,
upon a Friday
they switched
and were happy

6.16.2010

Scene 298: A Touch in the Rain

Upon a bed of sunflowers
the frown flutters
dancing about the petals

So serene, such sadness
upon a scene so surreal
with showers on the sun

The frown gently rests
soaking in the flowers
but the clouds refuse

Oh, how tangible, the sky
that it clumps together
and lumps itself with you

Oh, how lonely, the horizon
must be, that it falls in pieces
on your frown

6.15.2010

Scene 297: Remorse

You were everything
I was nothing
Together
we make something.
What is it exactly?
We'll never know.
Jump
into the abyss
hands held high
forever
and never will end

Scene 296: The Softer Side

Take a look
at the softer side of the knife.
Oh, that edge
so smooth and
blunt.
Fingers run across the side,
dancing on the line.
The first side is for cutting,
and the second is for crushing,
and that, dear one,
is how you mutilate a heart

6.13.2010

Scene 295: Our Mountain

Three men climbed the mountain.

Behold, the peaks!
Trudge,
higher, higher,
harder, harder,
and....

A shoe off the cliff,
with some baggage.
Oh, how could you?

Some things you can't see coming

6.12.2010

Scene 294: Behind Bars

Oh no, don't be silly
I haven't had enough.
Alcohol doesn't make me sick;
you do.

Scene 293: A Fighter's Fate

Over the expanse
crashing down
the purple birds
meld into a heart
their corpses
on the floor.
What a sight,
that they lay there,
peacefully.
Such a group that,
for one second
they appear to be born again

6.10.2010

Scene 292: Short-Lived

Your dreams
came crashing down on me
oh, the weight
answered that question,
yes, it exploded in my hands.
And now my face is scarred,
carrying your dreams
in my heart

6.09.2010

Scene 291: Under Rusting Clouds

You sang the melodies
in the copper fields
rusting apart beneath your toes
those tones,
oh those tones
rustled apart beneath my prose.

I wrote the stories
in those copper plains
blowing about around me
as I lie,
oh, you lied
blowing smoke from your teeth

We composed those musicals
drowning in the copper dust
billowing up, surrounding us
as I prayed,
oh, you preyed
upon all my sustenance

6.08.2010

Scene 290: The Left Lane

Under the buttered hills
lies the jam
sticky like gum.
And over and over you slide,
the butter wearing thin
that grease just melting
into nothing.

6.07.2010

Scene 289: Like Family

Three and again.
Oh, how could you
such a game.
Sorry!
Go back home.

6.06.2010

Scene 288: On the Nature of Desire

Oh, it cannot be
Despite logic and reason,
it always will be

6.05.2010

Scene 287: Grasp

An ache
a thump
Ouch.

Look up again.
Reach out once more,
but don't forget
to look where you're stepping

The floor
is slippery
as are
you

6.04.2010

Scene 286: The Soft Side

Under a lash
a bit of brown
some substance
leaks

The scene
is very topical
and the article
is hollow

The photo says nothing
the still just sits
the portrait so wounded
the picture, it quits

6.03.2010

Scene 285: Harmonic Island

Like a single flat note on a desert isle
drifting along the brackish coast.

Oh, touch the ground, little black leg
sidle lightly,
so that your toes can find footing.

The sea of white surrounds you,
and the bars sometimes trap you
but you can squeeze between the cracks
as water does between grains of sand

The isle may be lonely
and your song may fall flat
but someone will answer the siren's call,
someone will read
the message in that bottle.

6.02.2010

Scene 284: Yes/No

The cantaloupe cracks
a smile across its stomach
it's lips drooling
and aching.
Like the two masks,
the two halves
see the two different cups
in one reflection

6.01.2010

Scene 283: Hysteria

Excuse me,
but perhaps you have the wrong person.
You see, emotions, surely
you cannot mean to all drown me.

Oh no,
that's simply absurd.
In order to live, one simply needs to breathe,
and to eat,
and to drink.
No one mentioned having to deal with... emotions.

That's simply ludicrous.
To think that it could be so difficult
just to live.
Ha!
You must have the wrong person,
and I request
that you bother someone else.

For you see,
I live
